LIVE TWITTER CHATS

I had always heard of live twitter chats, but never knew how they worked, or had participated in one. Recently, I participated in two different live twitter chats. Each was an hour long, but both times the hour flew by!! During the chats, I was slightly overwhelmed by the amount of scrolling and refreshing I had to do to keep up. I interacted with many different tweeters on issues that matter to me, gained followers, followed some new people, and really enjoying joining together on a topic. By the end of each live chat, I felt exhilarated, empowered, and accomplished-- something I never expected to feel after a twitter chat of all things. I was really amazed an impressed with all of the interactions I experienced in each chat. One of the chats was centered around millennials and how they will impact jobs of the future, tagged with #MillennialTalk, which focuses on a new topic each week. The other chat was for our digital leadership course. Both were structured similarly with a moderator who poses questions to which followers can respond and comment on others responses, providing for progressive and constructive idea-sharing and conversation. If you have never participated in a live twitter chat, I highly recommend you find one about a topic that you're interested in and devote an hour of your time to participate. You won't regret it and you may even gain some followers!
